Cosmelan in Chichester
Pigmentation that keeps coming back isn’t a surface problem. Cosmelan treats melasma, sun spots, post-acne marks and uneven tone at the source: it fades the look of the pigment you can see and helps regulate the cells that keep producing it.
One session in clinic, then a guided home programme of 6 weeks to 6 months, depending on your pigmentation, prescribed and reviewed by Morgan French, Registered Nurse and Independent Prescriber. Suitable for every skin tone.

Why does pigmentation keep coming back?
Dark patches start deep in the skin, in pigment cells called melanocytes. Sun, hormones, inflammation and genetics switch them into overdrive, so they overproduce melanin and push it up to the surface, where it collects as melasma, sun spots and post-acne marks.
Peels, lasers and brightening serums can lift the surface pigment, but if those cells are still overactive, the marks return, often after the next summer. Cosmelan is built differently: an intensive correction in clinic, then months of regulation at home that calm pigment production at its source.
It is mesoestetic’s professional depigmentation method, used on more than a million patients worldwide, and Mediluxe uses the same mesoestetic range for your treatment and your home care.

Treated at the source.
-
01 · Correct
Lifts existing pigment
The cosmelan 1 mask speeds up skin renewal, clearing pigment from the surface layers of the skin.
-
02 · Regulate
Calms the pigment cells
Cosmelan 2 works inside the melanocyte. It inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme that makes melanin, and slows the transfer of pigment to the skin’s surface.
-
03 · Clear & protect
Helps stop it coming back
It helps the skin break down melanin already stored in its cells, while daily SPF and a maintenance routine help keep new pigment from forming.

The 2024 Cosmelan formula is built around two patented mesoestetic® technologies: melaphenone®, designed to inhibit tyrosinase with high precision, and cosmesome®, an encapsulated apigenin and phloretin complex that helps self-regulate melanin overproduction. They work alongside proven depigmenting actives including kojic acid, niacinamide, hexylresorcinol, retinol, vitamin C and phytic acid.

Frequently asked.
What is Cosmelan?
Cosmelan is mesoestetic®’s professional depigmentation method, used on more than a million patients worldwide. It combines one intensive mask treatment in clinic with a guided home programme that fades existing pigmentation and helps regulate the cells that produce it.
How many sessions will I need?
Just one in clinic. The rest of the treatment happens at home, which is why your home routine and your reviews with Morgan are such an important part of your result.
How long is the Cosmelan programme?
From 6 weeks to 6 months, depending on your pigmentation. Lighter or more recent marks can respond within 6 weeks. Melasma and deep or long-standing pigmentation need the full 6-month protocol so pigment production stays regulated. Morgan recommends the right programme at your consultation.
Is there downtime?
The first 7 days are a healing phase. During the first month you may notice flaking, peeling, redness, mild swelling and tightness; peeling usually starts after 2 to 3 days. These are normal signs the treatment is working.
When will I see results?
Results are visible from the first week of treatment. Results continue to build across the programme, with the most significant change typically seen between day 120 and day 180.
Will my pigmentation come back?
Cosmelan is designed to lower that risk by regulating pigment production, not just lifting the surface. Completing the full programme, wearing SPF every day and following your maintenance routine all help keep results lasting.
Is Cosmelan suitable for darker skin?
Yes. Cosmelan is suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types, I to VI, and is often chosen for deeper skin tones, where pigmentation is common and stronger peels and lasers carry more risk.
How long do I keep the mask on?
Between 6 and 8 hours, set by Morgan for your skin type and pigmentation, and never longer than 8 hours. You remove it at home with lukewarm water.
Can I have other treatments during Cosmelan?
A Melanostop Tranex peel is recommended 15 days before. After your session, chemical peels and microneedling are paused until month 7. The cosmelan 1 mask is used no more than once a year.
Who should not have Cosmelan?
Cosmelan is not suitable if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, for children under 12, or if you have sunburn, a skin condition, open or healing wounds in the area, a bacterial, viral, fungal or herpetic infection (including cold sores), or an allergy to any of its ingredients. Tell us if you have taken isotretinoin (Roaccutane) in the last 6 months.
How much is Cosmelan in Chichester?
At Mediluxe Clinic, Cosmelan starts from £595 for the 6-Week Programme. The 6-Month Programme is £1,295 and includes your preparation peel. Both include your clinic session, home kit and reviews. Every price is on this page.
